DEPUTY WTG INSTALLATION MANAGER required by our Client, within the Renewables industry, to be assigned on a Contract basis, located in Boston, MA.

POSITION SCOPE
The Deputy WTG Installation Manager is responsible for the delivery and assurances of the transportation of the WTG components, marshalling & pre-assembly area, port operations, offshore installation, and handover to commissioning in compliance with company standards and Health, Safety and Environment regulations.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Interface coordination between the transportation and installation service provider and turbine supplier for design/mobilisation of equipment, tools and marine spread.
Review of technical documentation hereunder method statements, risk assessment, procedures, drawings, and plans related to transportation and installation of wind turbine components.
Coordination with the Marine Warranty Surveyor and Project Certification Body.
Coordination with Contractors representatives during the project preparation and execution phases.
Participation in audits and inspections of vessels and mobilization activities.
Assistance to and coordination with Contract Managers for the relevant contracts and agreements.
Interface management with other packages for the relevant activities, e.g. preparation of pre-assembly site, sequence of construction activities, foundations readiness for WTG installation etc.
Coordination with Contractors representatives and Lead Commissioning Manager regarding crew change schedule and use of vessels for commissioning work.
Coordination with HSE Manager and Quality Manager to ensure the project is executed in accordance with the project’s HSEQ requirements and lead by example when carrying out duties.
Assistance with local stakeholder management prior to and during construction.
Coordination of relevant works at the pre-assembly port together with site personnel.
Coordination with the Marine Warranty Surveyor for the Contractors to obtain Certificate of Acceptance for construction activities.
Coordination with Client Reps working offshore on transportation and installation vessels for daily progress reporting and assist with contractual dispute resolution.
Ad hoc support tasks related to onshore and offshore construction.
Attendance of daily meetings with pre-assembly site, offshore construction, and project management teams.
Review of Daily Progress Reporting logs and prepare statistics of vessel and installation performance as per contracts.
During 24/7 construction activities be available for calls on weekends.
Travel must be expected throughout the project preparation phase.
Assistance with project close-out and hand-over to Operations and Maintenance team.
Cooperate in technical, management and administration activities for the project and company’s project portfolio, as required.
Coordinating with colleagues in similar roles at other projects, and with Head of Department for assurances, use, compliance and production of company standards, knowledge transfer, line management, etc.
QUALIFICATION/ EXPERIENCE
Engineering degree and professional qualification in relevant discipline – Mechanical/Structural/ Marine Engineering/Naval Architectural or Construction Management.
At least five years of experience in the energy sector within
engineering design (structures and/or equipment);
production of specifications and tender documents;
contract negotiations (technical documentation);
construction and offshore installation method statements;
project planning;
budgetary estimations.
Experience with negotiation and managing of EPCI Contracts.
Experience with heavy lifting, port infrastructure, and marine operations.
Health and Safety legislation relevant to offshore operations, heavy lifting, and commissioning.
Preferred but not a must with a track record on delivering complex multi-discipline projects.
Proven capability of delivering against multiple targets

Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
Good organizational and operational skills with the ability to link this awareness to contractual judgement and decision making.

Reports to Lead WTG Installation Manager.
Proficient in MS Office to include MS Projects
Willing to relocate to location of work.

Criteria Essential/Desirable
Proven experience as a WTG Installation Manager or similar role or experience.
Proven experience with offshore construction in the energy industry.
Demonstrated experience in managing an EPC project or similar.
Read and write English proficiently.
Ability to work in various locations in US.
