Overview
Performs basic custodial, repair, safety and security functions to ensure clean, pleasant and safe environment for employees.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Cleans building floors by seeping, mopping and vacuuming offices and common areas.
- Service, clean, sanitizes and maintain supplies in restrooms and employee break room.
- Clean sinks, countertops, microwaves and refrigerators in break rooms.
- Gather and empty all trash; replace liners, clean receptacles as necessary.
- Maintain maintenance room in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
- Maintain maintenance equipment in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
- Maintains inventory of cleaning, toiletry, and break room supplies (i.e. cups, plates, utensils, etc.)
- Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
- Clean windows, glass doors/case, and mirrors, change light bulbs in facility as needed
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Make adjustments and minor repairs, as needed or required.
- Proper dilution and use of all cleaning solutions, according to specifications.
- Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
- Maintain facility grounds and parking areas free of litter or other debris.
- Monitor building security and safety; observes appearances and conditions of premises and equipment; notify supervisor concerning needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions
- Perform routine building repairs and paint: repairs or replaces small internal structures and partitions. Hang/repair whiteboards, shelving; small furniture; replace acoustical ceiling tiles, light bulbs, repair doors, locks, and related items.
- Determine appropriate cleaning materials, supplies, tools, and equipment needed to accomplish the job required.
- Removes/sets up and arranges tables and chairs in cafeteria according to established schedule or as requested for specific events.
- Maintains areas around compactors, exterior storage containers, and trash and recycling bins.
- Moves/assembles office and cubicle furnishings, including reconfiguring cubicle components, assembling bookshelves, hanging pictures in hard wall offices, etc.
- Maintains inventories of cubical components, cleaning/janitorial supplies, cafeteria provisions, office furniture, and first aid supplies.
- Replenishes first aid kits and eyewash containers, and maintains fire extinguishers to maintain compliance with OSHA and fire marshal rules and regulations
- Contacts vendors/contractors for more complex repairs
OTHER DUTIES:
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge/Skills/Attributes
- Expert ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Solid ability to operate and use janitorial tools (small/electric drills, saw, regular hand tools, etc.), equipment, and supplies such as a vacuum cleaner.
- Solid communication, interpersonal skills; good client/customer service skills.
- Solid ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Solid ability to prioritize multiple tasks; organize and coordinate tasks.
- Solid ability to work effectively and be proactive.
- Solid knowledge of hazards and safety rules.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing products or willing to learn.
Education
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
- Must have valid Driver’s License and good driving record; required to operate company vehicle for business related errands
Experience
Minimum of six (6) months general custodial or building maintenance experience required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
No supervisory responsibility.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical effort is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, bend, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Overtime work is possible.

Pay Range: $13.12-$20.01
