Crushing Superintendent

POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Crushing Superintendent for Kiewit, you will function as a field supervisor and may have responsibility for multiple Foreman and laborers/craft workers. You will be responsible for the organization, work methods, scheduling, cost control, conformity with drawings and specifications, workmanship, and assignment of work, either directly or through the General Foreman/Foreman. You will also work to maintain positive working relationships with clients, engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, and jobsite staff.

DISTRICT OVERVIEW

Kiewit’s South-Central District is one of Kiewit’s leading infrastructure districts specializing in heavy civil, transportation, and water resource markets. Projects you could be working on could include mass grading, drainage, paving, utility and more. Although most of our work is regionally based in the south-central region of the United States, we also pursue various projects stretching across the United States. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about infrastructure and committed to the construction industry as opposed to design.

LOCATION

This person will work at a large quarry in Santo, TX – west of Fort Worth near Weatherford.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Mentor and help to grow fellow Kiewit staff.
• Maintain daily crushing records. 
• Make sure the site is within MSHA compliance.
• Communicate with day and night shift foreman’s and other staff.
• Working on weekends and night shift may be required.
• Review/Order parts as needed for the crusher.
• Approve timesheets for all craft.
• Review and approve balance of Foremen, journeymen, and laborer’s composite labor rates.
• Develop a program to maintain good client relations involving staff on site.
• Initiate and attend supplementary and regular meetings with project staff.
• Ensure that all performance evaluations are completed in a timely fashion for direct reports.
• Recommend organizational, procedural, and/or staff changes when appropriate.
• Review and approve/reject promotions up to General Foreman.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 10 years of crushing experience with at least 3 years being in a Superintendent/Leadership capacity.
• Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations and planning.
• Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding Kiewit’s policies, procedures, and software programs.
• Ability to identify and resolve any problems that may arise.
• Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to access all areas on a construction project site.
