Construction and Field Specialist / Mid-Level Landscape Architect

SWA Group, a global leader in Landscape Architecture, Planning, and Urban Design, is seeking a knowledgeable Construction Site Observation / Field Specialist to join the firm’s dynamic Laguna studio with 5+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture and site construction. This professional will collaborate within project design teams with the primary responsibility of monitoring and reviewing the diverse range of projects both under design and under construction. Elevating the levels of construction quality is the primary goal, thus a broad knowledge-base in landscape architectural construction with a keen eye towards high-quality design execution and detail is essential.

Working with us in this role, you will be responsible for:

1. Preparation of construction drawings/documents sets with a focus on technical details
2. Reviewing and redlining drawing sets
3. Materials research
4. Writing technical specifications
5. Monitoring and reviewing a diverse range of projects under construction
6. Attending and leading meetings

Requirements:

A professional undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited program in landscape architecture. Our ideal candidate has 5+ years professional experience in a design office with:

12. Site observation/construction administration experience
13. Technical understanding or landscape architecture site development elements
14. Licensed landscape architect, or intent of becoming licensed
15. Familiarity with palettes of regional plant materials

Proficiency required in:

1. AutoCAD 2018+
2. Revit or other BIM software
3. Microsoft Office

Additional experience with the following is desirable:

1. Adobe Creative Suite ( InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator)
2. Bluebeam Revu
3. Hand sketching
4. 3D modeling (SketchUp or Rhino)
