We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced electronic health record (EHR) Chief Architect to join our dynamic healthcare organization. As the EHR Chief Architect, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of the Oracle Cerner electronic health record, population health and interoperability platforms. You will be responsible for leading a team of technical leads and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the EHR system meets the organization’s strategic objectives and fulfills regulatory requirements. At GDIT, we put our people first. As a Chief Architect, you will be leading EHR implementation, with technical leadership of technical team leads on a large Federal EHR modernization program. The solution will be hosted in a Fed Ramp High Oracle Cloud environment providing mission critical support to our customer. In this role, a typical day will include the following responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the architectural vision and strategy for the Oracle Health EHR solution (Cerner), considering program scope, scalability, reliability, security, and performance requirements.
- Lead a team of architects and provide technical guidance on EHR application integration, interoperability, cybersecurity, data management, cloud hosting, technical site infrastructure, environment (domain) strategy and testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including clinicians, administrators, and IT teams, to understand various business needs and translate them into architectural requirements.
- Define and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and coding guidelines to ensure consistency and maintainability of the EHR system.
- Conduct architectural reviews and provide recommendations/roadmaps for improvements and optimizations.
- Remain current with industry trends and emerging technologies in healthcare IT and EHR systems.
- Evaluate third-party software solutions and integration opportunities to enhance the functionality and interoperability of the EHR system.
- Coordinate with security and compliance teams to ensure the EHR system adheres to privacy and regulatory requirements, such as HIPAA.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives and provide technical expertise to drive innovation and improve overall healthcare system architecture.
- Mentor and coach team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
- 10+ years of experience as a senior solutions or systems architect for large-scale enterprise applications.
- Experience with Oracle Health Cerner Electronic Health Records systems or large Health IT implementations
- Experience in Federal enterprise IT solution Architecture.
- Experience leading technical teams
- Ability to work at the Enterprise level, working and coordinating efforts across numerous resources, sub-contractors, and stakeholders.
- Travel up to 25%
- Ability to obtain Public Trust level 5 clearance.
PREFERRED:
- Previous experience working on large Federal healthcare projects is highly desired.
- Experience with designing, executing, and supporting Federal IT cloud solutions.
- Expertise working with large complex integrated delivery network deployment of an EHR desired.
- Past large scale & fast paced program experience
- Experience in Cloud based architecture and familiar with cybersecurity ATO process desired.
- Strong experience with MS Office suite of products.
- Demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills. Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and simply.
- Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.

The likely salary range for this position is $160,000 – $240,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.Scheduled Weekly Hours:
