McCarthy is seeking a Business Process Continuous Improvement Manager based out of the organization’s Southwest Office in Phoenix, Arizona. This role has two focuses: #1 is focused on creating and improving processes within the Renewable Energy business unit (BU) to enhance the performance of our projects and support business scalability and #2 is the Administrator responsibility for Monday.com. The individual will be (or become) a leader for McCarthy in not only applying Continuous Improvement (CI) principles to business processes but also will help support CI by being responsible to coach and encourage others to leverage CI principles in their work.
Key Responsibilities
Continuous Improvement for Business Processes
- Identify, create, and participate in the implementation of continuous improvement opportunities focused on business processes, enabling tools, and systems that deliver tangible value to the Renewable Energy BU.
- Partner with Business Development, Preconstruction, Design Management, Shared Services, Operations, and O&M to help these departments document their processes while working to identify, prioritize and pursue continuous improvement opportunities. Maintain ownership of a library of business process flow diagrams.
- Create a standard template to be used by the Renewable Energy BU teams listed above so they can document their Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)/work instructions and the library where these documents will be housed. Create a timeline for completion and regularly check in, audit, and offer support to ensure these processes remain relevant and meet the needs of the Renewably Energy BU. Establish a process including templates and catalog of processes and timeline for teams to complete business process documentation to ensure standardization within the BU. Regularly check in, audit, and offer support to ensure these processes remain relevant and meet the needs of the Renewable Energy BU.
- Engage in the CI Workshops to introduce CI Concepts and Principles to the RE Business Unit.
- Coach individuals and teams on the value of CI and how to implement CI principles to identify and solve business problems.
- Actively seek opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams on business process system enhancements.
- Engage with the CI leads supporting the field (site support) to collaborate on CI activities that impact both business and field processes.
- Document, aggregate and publish CI Metrics to the entire RE Business Unit.
Monday.com (MDC) Administrator
The overall responsibility of the Super User/Admin for MDC is to facilitate the implementation, engagement, and embedment of the tool within McCarthy RE. Below are some of the responsibilities and expectations of the individual involved.
- Become an expert on the tool’s functionalities and capabilities for McCarthy (will attend MDC training for certification)
- Develop a thorough understanding of the current MDC boards & applications including purpose, how they work/integrate and who is expected to engage.
- Maintain administrative control over the project template library used across the RE Business Unit.
- Complete the set-up process for new projects in MDC using project templates including collaborating with the SharePoint administrator to gather project info.
- Work across the RE Business Unit to ensure teams and individuals are using the boards and applications as designed through collaboration, education, and coaching.
- Lead (in collaboration with RE Business Unit partners) the process flow creation and scoping exercises/planning to understand desired end state for new boards/applications.
- Use a methodical planning process to outline how boards/applications will be configured (boards, dashboards, automations, integrations, notifications).
- Build and/or support the building of boards/applications (in collaboration with RE Business Unit partners and/or consultants).
- Sitewide MDC Administration: managing user permissions, provisioning, and deactivation of users. SSO coordination with Corporate IT, external applications and integrations management and billing.
- Facilitate strategic relationship with Monday.com team including contracts & invoice processing.
Qualifications
- Ability to effectively lead a group through current processes and identification of opportunities for improvement.
- Strong organizational skills to develop and execute plans to address improvement opportunities.
- Strong independent leadership skills that can lead teams to solutions while solving bottlenecks and clearing barriers.
- Interest and willingness to learn the technical skills required to build and maintain the MDC boards/applications.
- Capability to create and publish documents, presentations and reports that are organized, easy to review and impactful, communicating important content and metrics to the organization.
- Solid working knowledge of process mapping, analytics, and/or other continuous improvement
