Architectural Project Manager – 4378

Description

STV currently has an opening in our Boston, MA office for an Architectural Project Manager and become an integral part of our Buildings division. The immediate assignment is to lead the design and construction of a large maintenance and storage facility for one of our premier public agency clients. Potential for long term leadership role as our Boston office portfolio continues to expand.

Key responsibilities will include working with and managing architectural/engineering teams in preparing documents for projects of various size and complexity in the transportation, infrastructure and facilities sectors.  The ideal candidate will oversee detailed phases of Architectural design work for projects requiring interface and collaboration with various disciplines and consultants. Manage and monitor authorized project budgets and schedules. Supervise the production and execution of design work including planning studies, design development, client presentations and construction documents. Oversee research used in writing specifications, including coordination with manufacturers. Conduct site and construction inspections for information-gathering purposes, prepare assessment related reports. Coordinate code analysis, material selections, and technical solutions. Collaborate with other disciplines as required. Plan, schedule, coordinate, manage and oversee the work of junior level architects/engineers. Assist with developing scope and fee proposals.

Required Experience:

The ideal candidate must have a Professional Degree in Architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch preferred) and a minimum of 10 years of project manager related experience. Candidate must be a Registered Licensed Architect in the State of Massachusetts. Experience with MGL Chapter 149A project delivery and facility and transportation related projects preferred.  Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite required.  Experience with Sketch-up and LEED Accreditation is also a plus.

Excellent management, organizational, design, technical and presentation skills, both verbal and visual, are essential.  The candidate should be a self-starter with a passion for problem solving, an understanding that project success comes through teamwork, and a firm focus on project management and client needs.

Essential Duties Include:

• Assist with establishing project scope, fees and schedule
• Monitor and manage project budgets and schedules
• Coordinate and lead architectural/engineering based design teams
• Determine collectively with senior project management, the technical approach and design criteria for projects.
• Lead and coach junior architectural staff
• Perform independent investigations, studies, and architectural analysis
• Oversee design details, plans and specifications
• Serve as quality control reviewer
• Use computer software as a design tool for solving complex architectural problems
• Remain current in codes and technologies appropriate to the architecture discipline including IBC, NFPA, etc. 
• Ensure conformance with standards, established architectural practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction.
