Job Description

This position generally works 18-25 hours per week, four hours per shift. Shifts will be between the hours of 12 noon – 8 p.m., Monday through Friday.

POSITION SUMMARY: 
The Part-Time Store Associate is an entry level, part-time position that will work at FedEx Office’s largest volume retail stores. The Part-Time Store Associate is knowledgeable in FedEx Office’s retail and shipping products and will work primarily in these areas to consistently deliver a positive customer experience. The Part-Time Store Associate will utilize consultative skills to anticipate customer’s need, suggest alternatives and provide solutions. The Part-Time Store Associate will operate and maintain a variety of equipment in the Self-Service and Retail zones of the store, move boxes, stock materials and complete assigned tasks based on priority.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows instructions of supervisor and assist other Team Members in performing limited store functions

Service
  • Assembles parcels and prepares goods for shipping by wrapping items in insulation, inserting items into shipping containers, weighing packages, and affixing labels to parcels
  • Demonstrates consultative behaviors in a retail environment to understand each customer’s individualized need
  • Ensures all customer problems are resolved quickly and to the satisfaction of the customer
  • Maintains a safe, clean and orderly retail Store

Profit
  • Ensures confidentiality of customer data and careful handling of documents, media, and packages
  • Assists with processing financial transactions using a Point of Sale terminal (POS), including handling cash and making change
  • Cleans and stocks all retail Store printing and shipping equipment and supplies to provide optimal performance and availability
  • Stays current on retail Store merchandising materials and ensures proper display of all retail area product and signage
  • Takes preemptive action to prevent errors and waste
  • Follows FedEx Office standard operating procedures as well as adhering to legal, HR, safety, customer service and security policies and procedures  

Self-Management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education

  • Determine and make most efficient setup and operate machine tools, taking into consideration such things as type of material tolerances to be held, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants, and machine tool speeds and feeds.
  • Exhibit a thorough knowledge of machines and mechanical principles involved in the repair and overhaul work, including timing, synchronizing, and aligning the mechanical action so that, under power, the assemblies are mechanically coordinated.
  • Set up and test can manufacturing and other equipment under power testing for mechanical difficulties, tracing to their source and correcting.
  • Operate, clear jams, lubricate, clean, and add, as required, necessary direct and indirect materials to equipment to keep operational.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Mechanically inclined, familiar with hand tools

  • SAP/Distribution Systems co-lead on behalf of Corporate Distribution – direct, upgrade, test, train, and execute change management within Distribution.

  • Direct, develop, and maintain monthly financial reporting on External Warehouse spend – responsible for creating weekly, monthly, and YTD cost variance report vs. budget.  Must have the ability to provide accurate breakout by category impact. 
  • Work jointly with Transportation to develop Warehouse and Transportation annual budget. 

Knowledge/ Skills/ Experience:

  • B.S. or B.A. in Business from an accredited college or university,  with a focus on Supply Chain, Procurement or Logistics prefferably. 
  • 10+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Distribution, or procurement would provide strong negotiation skills necessary to succeed in this position (highly preferred) 
  • 5+ years of experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Distribution, or procurement would provide strong negotiation skills necessary to succeed in this position. 
  • Working knowledge of distribution principles and experience working with 3PL warehouse providers and labor pools.

Purpose of the Role:

Reporting to the Chief Logistics Officer, the Director of Transportation’s main priority is to enhance Ardagh’s transportation network and use influence to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This role has full ownership of transportation performance while ensuring customer satisfaction by balancing service and cost.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ownership and Direction of transportation teams and activities to ensure on-time pickup, on-time delivery, care during transit of materials and return of dunnage (key strategic and operational role). 
  • Direct, develop, and execute annual, semi-annual, quarterly request for quote (RFQ) events with Ardagh transportation providers. These commercial events require cooperation between the Director of Transportation of AMP and AGP.  Research, identify, propose and implement dedicated fleets in Ardagh operations and manage the performance and costs and report results.
  • SAP/Transportation Systems co-lead on behalf of Corporate Transportation – direct, upgrade, test, train, and execute change management within Transportation. 
  • Ownership of Sustainability programs/measures for Ardagh Transportation in north America and in coordination with Europe – research, recommend, implement, manage, alternate fuel vehicle tests, pilots, implementations in Ardagh operations and Smartway participation.

  • Direct activities of Transportation Logistics toward strategic evaluation, qualification, and approval of all new transportation, yard management, TMS, analytics, tracking/tracing, dock scheduling, etc. tools that are added to the Ardagh supply chain.  This demands technical support for any carrier, customer’s carriers, plant or warehouse personnel that are unable to complete shipping process.   
  • Direct, develop, and maintain monthly financial reporting on Transportation spend – responsible for creating weekly, monthly, and YTD cost variance report vs. budget – and for service performance KPI’s in weekly, monthly, YTD buckets.  Must have the ability to provide accurate breakout by category impact. 
  • Work jointly with Warehouse to develop Warehouse and Transportation annual budgets. 
  • Manage and execute transportation strategy, RFQ’s, negotiations, performance metrics, and reporting on the Trivium Packaging business for so long as there is a TSA – Transportation Services Agreement between Ardagh and Trivium.
