Responsibilities
- Perform all duties of a Customer Experience Specialist
- Will be assigned to perform the duties of an Aircraft Service Coordinator as directed
- Under the direction of the Manager perform daily job duties for the Work Unit.
- Coordinate work assignments ensuring all agents maintain a high level of proficiency in all aspects of the job of Customer Experience Specialist
- Allocate the available manpower to meet demands, including the booking of OT and granting of RO, changing of shifts and/or duty assignments as necessary with consultation of Mgt
- Assign, and reassign Agents as required due to operational needs as directed by Mgt and with the objective of maintaining proficiency in all job functions, ie: aircraft service coordinators
- Coordinate routine administration, operational requirements, including planning / calling of overtime as delegated by Mgt
- Assign daily lunch / breaks in a manner consistent with the collective agreement and the requirements of the work unit, providing for efficient use of available resources while protecting the operation
- Perform on-the-job training as required and directed by Mgt and / or Training Dept
- May be called upon to lead formal training classes, both basic and recurrent
- Liaise with other Work Units, ground handling Companies, Caterer, Governmental and Airport Authorities.
- Monitor and audit the provisions of contracted services, report on findings, recommend improvements.
- When assigned or in emergencies Coordinate all ramp handling functions.
- Investigate and complete Safety and Security reporting as required
- Preliminary accident investigation and report on findings, recommend action as required
- Ensure that all necessary supplies and material are on hand in sufficient quantity.
- Assist Customer Experience Specialists in the handling of VIP or irate customers as required
- Collect and compile statistical data.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform all the duties of a Customer Experience Specialist,
- Must be familiar with the duties of an Aircraft Service Coordinator.
- Must have the ability to use tact, good judgment and initiative.
- Must have demonstrated leadership qualities.
- Must have excellent oral, written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure with a minimum of supervision.
- Demonstrated organizational skills – ability to organize work and direct the efforts of others in a productive non-threatening manner.
- Must wear Company uniform as prescribed and conforms to Company grooming standards.
- Possess a basic understanding of the principles of weight and balance.
- Must be able to work shift work including irregular shifts and overtime when required/directed.
- Must be able to lift (70) lbs. unaided.
- Must maintain an acceptable attendance record.

Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service/experience
- Check in Passengers, issue boarding pass, seat selection and verify immigration documentation

- Provide passengers with relevant information, including Customs and Immigration requirements
- Perform Baggage Tracing duties

- Oversee the collection of annual energy usage and other data for the LBE portfolio, from all operations and facilities of the MBTA, and input of collected data into designated LBE reporting portal
- Conduct quality control and analysis on data collected for reporting
- Work with MBTA databases to report directly to LBE on progress to LBE targets and goals
- Serve as the primary contact for LBE data requests and manage databases and spreadsheets associated with agency and project data
- Support the Department of Capital Delivery and the Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE) to project energy and emissions impacts from planned projects
- Develop annual reports on progress related to LBE Executive Order 594 and other pertinent metrics
- Develop MBTA energy and emissions data for the Global Warming Solutions Act reporting, and other ad hoc requests for MBTA progress data that support statewide initiatives and policies
- Preparation of graphs and charts for events, reports, publications
- Assist the MBTA with application to incentives and grant programs, including identification of potential projects, coordination of review process, and overseeing grant management and follow-up
- Track and measure progress toward meeting the goals set forth in Executive Order 594 as well as other LBE clean energy and sustainability goals
- Work to increase transparency and communicate performance metrics through additional external reporting outlets, website content, and targeted reports for MBTA partners, stakeholders and the public
- Leverage existing data to inform MBTA Energy program priorities through analysis and targeted reports
- Develop modeling and analysis tools to help inform future MBTA targets, goals, and program/project opportunities
- Maintain and enhance various data tools that help partners explore potential project and MBTA impacts and savings
- Collaborate with MBTA regional and national partners to identify best practices, successes and challenges, and strategic approaches to existing and future MBTA priorities (e.g., US DOE, EIA, EPA, DOER, DCAMM, MWRA, APTA , etc.)
Energy Project Initiatives
- Utilize energy data to identify and target MBTA sites that are struggling to improve energy use intensity and/or reduce greenhouse gas emissions
- Manage ongoing, site-level evaluation for MBTA facilities to proactively identify both positive and negative changes in energy use and engage with those sites to understand and address those changes where possible
- Work with the Energy Conservation Specialist to analyze energy projects and apply for Utility Incentives
- Coordinate installation of energy projects by utility vendors to meet LBE goals including requirements in EO594
- Conduct and supervise energy audits and scoping studies at MBTA facilities including coordination of site visits
- Assist in the sustainable design of new MBTA facilities
- Clean transportation data initiatives
- Maintain transportation related data tools and documents, including Statewide Contract vehicle lists, new electric vehicle model database, and EV total cost of ownership calculator, and create new evaluation tools and materials as necessary
- Track compliance with the Fuel Efficiency Standard (FES) for the MBTA Fleet by coordinating with the Department of Vehicle Engineering and Bus Operations on vehicle purchases by agency and providing compliance evaluation during and at the end of each fiscal year
- Support MBTA fleet clean transportation initiatives including but not limited vehicle electrification, EV station deployment, and identification of new technologies
Other Program Duties
- Participate in new LBE grant programs, program outreach and ongoing management
- Participate in LBE meetings and site visits, including support for content development for regular LBE Council meetings

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering or a related field

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) for Bus Operations will be responsible for the oversight of all bus operations as well as all construction activities under the purview of the Bus Transportation Division. Duties & Responsibilities
- Will work closely with the Chief of Transit Services (CTS) to ensure the vision and the mission of the Authority and the CTS are communicated and implemented throughout the Bus Operations Division while also ensuring service levels meet established service plan goals and that all safety standards are met.
- Oversee and direct through the CTO and Division Chiefs all construction activities along the right of way to ensure minimal disruption to service, the safe execution of construction activities, and the overall integrity of the Bus Operations infrastructure.
- Establish and direct the implementation of the goals, priorities, and strategic initiatives for all bus transit services for service delivery, maintenance, and budgeting purposes, to ensure the various bus garages have the necessary staffing, equipment, and infrastructure to meet all established goals.
- Monitor and ensure the implementation of any needed mitigation plans through the CTO to address areas of concern identified by KPI reviews or by the Division Chiefs identified during the course of their duties.
- Work closely with counterparts in Rail Operations, OCC & Training, Engineering & Maintenance, Vehicle Maintenance and Security to ensure support during emergencies, severe weather and other service disruptions is available to minimize impact on service. Remain up to date on and fulfill all roles and responsibilities as related to the MBTA’s Safety Plan and ensure resources are available to all staff informing them of their roles and responsibilities in the Safety Plan.
- Review findings of investigations into any service delivery failures and direct the implementation of corrective actions through management staff.
- Participate in command center activities during emergency events, such as weather emergencies and other events that create critical service disruptions.
- Oversee the development and management of the department’s annual budgets ensuring sound fiscal oversight of all resources.
- Participate in all phases of the recruitment and selection of employees for the department. Ensure the department’s compliance with Authority policies and procedures, including compliance with all applicable safety standards, discipline processes, and mandated trainings.
- Assume the role of the CTS as needed during vacations and other absences or to represent the CTS at meetings, hearings and presentations when the CTS is not available.

- Monitor and ensure the implementation of any needed mitigation plans through the CTO to address areas of concern identified by KPI reviews or by the Division Chiefs identified during the course of their duties.
- Work closely with counterparts in Bus Operations, OCC & Training, Engineering & Maintenance, Vehicle Maintenance and Security to ensure support during emergencies, severe weather and other service disruptions is available to minimize impact on service.
- Remain up-to-date on and fulfill all roles and responsibilities as related to the MBTA’s Safety Plan and ensure resources are available to all staff informing them of their roles and responsibilities in the Safety Plan.
- Review findings of investigations into any service delivery failures and direct the implementation of corrective actions through management staff.
- Participate in command center activities during emergency events, such as weather emergencies and other events that create critical service disruptions.
- Oversee the development and management of the department’s annual budgets ensuring sound fiscal oversight of all resources.
- Participate in all phases of the recruitment and selection of employees for the department.
- Ensure the department’s compliance with Authority policies and procedures, including compliance with all applicable safety standards, discipline processes, and mandated trainings.

Job Summary
Operates an MBTA surface vehicle, assuming responsibility for the safety of passengers and equipment. Performs routine vehicle inspections to ensure proper operation. Collects fares from passengers and assists in emergency situations. Works under occasional supervision, following MBTA guidelines and procedure.
This position is eligible to receive a sign-on bonus of up to $7,500. Bonuses are paid out in two installments: $4,500 after completing 90 days of service, and $3,000 after the completion of one year of employment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operates surface line vehicle along assigned routes. Operation of the surface line vehicle includes picking up passengers, collecting fares, checking passes and ID cards for validity, protecting revenue collected according to defined procedures, sitting for extended periods of time, and some exposure to vibrations, noise, airborne particles and fumes.
- Inspects and/or tests the vehicle (including, but not limited to, brakes, lights, signs, doors, mirrors, wipers, tires and horn) to ensure serviceable condition. Regularly climb onto side of bus and reach with hands and arms to adjust side view mirrors.
- Reports and identifies mechanical problems or defects to the appropriate authority.
- Operates surface line vehicle maintaining appropriate speed and following distance from vehicles.
- Ensures that proper signs are displayed and changed as needed during each trip. Clearly announces destination at service stops, connecting points, and at all intervals along a route sufficient to permit individuals to orient themselves to their location.
- Notifies the Bus Control Center Dispatcher of any emergency, requesting additional assistance if needed. Evacuates passengers if the emergency situation warrants action and the Inspector is not available to make the decision. Operates onboard fire extinguisher.
- Maintains adequate knowledge of the MBTA system in order to provide routine information and directions to the public.
- Refers disputes over ID validity or fare collection to the official in charge of the station. Produces a written report to the Superintendent if the dispute is not resolved.
- Prepares accident reports as required.
- Responds to each inquiry, whether from a customer, vendor or co-worker, in a courteous and professional manner consistent with the Authority’s “Driven by Customer Service” quality standard.
- Report for duty on time and remain on duty for the duration of a scheduled work shift.
