Responsibilities:
• Be the subject matter expert on strategic DA/AI capability development in the Group Technology Office.
• Work with internal business stakeholders to identify strategic DA/AI applied research use cases relevant to the business and build prospective research pipeline.
• Lead the DA Strategic Technology Centre team to explore and build internal expertise in the application of AI in advanced technologies like 5G and quantum computing.
• Build up network of R&D partners in the university & research institute ecosystem for collaborative research projects and opportunities.
• Maintain technical research expertise and standing by publishing conference papers/journal articles, thought leadership white-papers, and speaking engagements.
• Grow the DA STC team and establish ST Engineering’s reputation for in-house advanced DA/AI capabilities.
• Drive innovation, lead the team to continuously ideate innovative research ideas based on analysis of academic & commercial SOTA DA landscape for different business domains. • Work closely with ST Engineering’s Technology Offices & R&D community in recommending investments designed to help its business objectives. • Present to senior management on DA/AI trends, research roadmaps and application to business as part of the Group Technology Office.
• Share knowledge, influence people & drive culture changes in digital transformation journey.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in leading corporate DA/AI R&D teams as well as research collaborations with universities and/or research institutes.
• Advanced degree, preferably PhD or Masters in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or any related discipline with 10 – 15 years of working experience.
• Track record in leadership and management with technical subject matter expertise in multiple areas of DA / AI e.g. AI Governance, Deep Learning, Computational Intelligence, Predictive Maintenance, Operations Research, Reinforcement Learning, Simulation, Optimization, etc.
• Experience in advanced technology research, strategy development and road-mapping will be advantageous.
• Ability to pick up new technologies quickly & accurately assess potential partners viability.
• Experience interfacing with senior management and have strong skills in influencing, driving business and research outcomes.
