We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter to help accelerate vehicle level data collection for the ADAS team. The Prototype Vehicle Operator will help drive improvement of Tesla’s Autopilot system by operating and becoming an expert on our prototype data collection vehicles across the US. This role requires a high level of flexibility.
This is an at-will, temporary position. The assignment is expected to last 2-3 months. Day and night shifts available.
- Operate a vehicle in a designated area for data collection
- Start/Stop recording devices and do minor equipment/software debugging when necessary. Analyze/report data collected during shift
- Write daily drive reports detailing observations and issues
- Check vehicle is in proper and safe working order every day, and if not, notify team for repair
- Ability to work a flexible schedule; Day/night shifts with the ability to work 1 day per weekend. Overtime is also typical for this position
- Must obtain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Must have safe driving habits
- Excellent attention to detail and highly observational
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Excellent PC skills, particularly MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Familiarity with ADAS/Autopilot systems and their sensors is preferred
- Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and how they work, such as brakes and power assisted steering, is preferred

The Technical Trainer for Service position requires someone with exceptional ability to assess needs, develop & deliver appropriate training solutions, and build strong working relationships. Individuals must be creative, proactive, organized, flexible, results-oriented, and have a passion for and understanding of electric vehicles. Must have outstanding communication, facilitation, and organizational skills while demonstrating a positive and professional demeanor. The Technical Trainer for Service will take responsibility for ensuring their North America Service region is equipped to deliver the best ownership experience the world has ever seen for every Tesla owner.
· Accountable for the facilitation of in person and virtual service training programs, delivering technical training courses that equip service employees to perform roles safely, efficiently, and to Tesla’s quality standards.
· Partner with the ID team to advise on development of training in close consultation with Service, FTS, and Service Engineering.
· Manage training facilities and ensure they are secure and clean.
· Complete administrative duties including but not limited to End of Week Reports, End of Class Emails, and Expense Reports.
· Maintain expert level knowledge of Tesla products, tools, platforms, and business processes.
· Partner with the Analysis, Instructional Design, Training Technology, and Evaluation teams within the ADDIE process, realizing shared productivity and efficiencies
· Partner with coordination to develop quarterly schedule.
· Stay current on industry trends and emerging functional practices, educational theories, and technical tools
· Ensure the security of Tesla employees, technology, intellectual property, and physical property · Partner with Training Analysis and Territory Stakeholders to identify training and development needs within their region.
· Serve, coach and mentor Field Technical Trainers within market to enhance core capabilities and ensure continuous process improvement.
· Ensure that programs and processes are developed, assessed, communicated, and administered in compliance with Tesla’s objectives in partnership with analysis and ID.
· Degree from a University, Certificate program in Automotive Technology, or the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability
· Proactive, flexible, confident, professional, and self-directed in a fast-paced environment.
· Thrives working independently; also able to contribute strongly as a member of a high performing team.
· Strong ability to collaborate and serve as a partner/consultant to regional leadership and staff.
