Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Research, design, and develop computer software to do camera image and video quality objective measurement, camera feature evaluation, as well as user-level feature testing and analysis. Work with camera image processing pipeline and camera control algorithms testing, which include auto exposure, auto focusing, auto white balance, sharpness and noise, dynamic range, and video image stabilization evaluation. Develop image quality (IQ) objective test strategies that include imaging lab automation tools (to automatically capture at various light levels) and chart-based image quality analysis (examples include but limited to sharpness, noise, SNR, MTF, color difference) to test camera algorithms and camera features of next generation Apple products. Develop IQ subjective test strategies that includes real world testing and present IQ pros and cons of each feature to cross-functional teams that include development and executive teams. Conduct bi-weekly testing on captures from different cameras, and track algorithm performance and test result by using objective measurement results and metrics that include temporal filtering, SNR, color difference. and subjective evaluation result on whether the tuning tradeoff is expected or not by aligning the result with development team and cross-functional team. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $165,500 – $248,700/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications
- PhD degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation
- Proficiency in:
- 1. Validating and analyzing camera system app functionality
- 2. Utilizing image sensor technology for final video quality
- 3. Testing camera image quality and conducting video feature comparison and providing camera summary reports.
- 4. Analyzing captured videos and identifying image quality issues.
- 5. Conducting image quality evaluation of camera images, videos, and camera features.
- 6. Processing digital images for camera control algorithms and developing IQ test strategies.
- 7. Working on algorithms evaluation through camera ISP pipeline.
- 8. Processing objective image quality measurement data using Matlab, calculating IQ metrics, and developing lab automation tools.
