This Imagineer is responsible for mechanical engineering including design, analysis, calculations, modeling and specifications for building HVAC systems and plumbing; compressible fluid and cryogenic systems and central energy installations. Curious to learn more? Keep reading below!
What You Will Do
- Become completely familiar with and be able to edit mechanical/plumbing sections of WDI master specifications
- Provide field investigations and generate condition reports for existing buildings
- Responsible for early stages of HVAC and plumbing systems’ design for new and renovation projects
- Provide evaluation of proposed systems using Life Cycle Cost Analysis
- Managing consultants for HVAC and plumbing disciplines
- Take responsibility for obtaining building department approvals when required
- Answer consultant and construction bid period questions
- Respond to and resolve field issues and questions
- Reviewing submittals
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Solid understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems, including compressed air
- Detailed familiarity with mechanical design and analysis computer programs
- Knowledge of life cycle cost and present worth analysis of mechanical systems
- Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD modeling software
- 6 or more years of work experience in mechanical engineering.
- A minimum of 2 years managing a team of mechanical engineers and designers in the production of contract documents for construction.
- Knowledge of Florida and Epcot codes
- Advanced knowledge of HVAC Building Management System
- General knowledge of digital control concepts such as analog and digital inputs and outputs, sequences of operations, point addressable devices.
- General knowledge of IP-based network and building automation communication protocols and systems, including BACnet.
Preferred Qualifications
- An advanced degree in the mechanical engineering field is preferred
- Active membership in ASHRAE and USGBC is desirable.
- 8 or more years of work experience in mechanical engineering.
Education
- Graduate of an accredited engineering school with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Professional registration in Mechanical Engineering
