We have a thriving AEC practice with a close-knit, team-oriented group that is growing rapidly. Due to our success, we need an Asbestos Technician to assist with the delivery of our current extensive backlog of work. This backlog includes tasks associated with construction and capital improvement projects for MTA agencies including New York City Transit and various infrastructure improvement projects for New York government agencies such as NYCHA and DASNY.

What We Are Seeking:
NYCHA Title –Certified Industrial Hygienist Project Manager
STV Title – Senior Environmental Scientist IV

This role emphasizes mold assessment and lead-based paint inspections, mold, and lead abatement monitoring, and abatement report writing, document review with the ability to develop both professionally and personally. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with a solid technical foundation allowing them to work independently. The successful candidate will have 12 years of industrial hygiene, mold assessment and lead-based paint inspection experience. Relevant experience includes:

• Project Management
• Industrial Hygiene, Mold assessment, and Lead-based paint inspection and design.
• Proposal development
• Report preparation

In addition, the candidate should possess a strong technical inclination, be self-motivated to take ownership of challenging problems, and possess excellent written & verbal communications skills.

Responsibilities:

• Manage team of industrial hygienists.
• Review and manage data results from the field.
• Manage, and periodically perform, mold assessments and lead inspections.
• Interact with engineers, architects, property managers, and lead abatement contractors.
• Prepare reports.
• Review mold O&M plans and other documents.
• Review lead-based paint XRF reports and abatement reports.
• Prepare proposals.
• Manage budgets and schedules.

Qualifications:

• 12 years of relevant industrial hygiene, mold assessment and lead-based paint inspections, design, monitoring project management experience with knowledge of NYC regulations, NYS regulations, HUD guidelines.
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
• NYCHA experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant study.
• NYSDOL Mold Assessor required.
• USEPA Lead Risk Assessor required.
• Demonstrates excellence and efficiency in project management, writing, communication, data analysis, professional judgement, and knowledge of regulations.
• Strong quality assurance/quality control skills to perform technical, style, and consistency reviews.
• Self-sufficient, self-motivated, and ability to work under pressure of deadlines is essential.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytics and organizational capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• New York City and State agency experience is a plus.
