Burns & McDonnell’s Aviation and Federal (A&F) Global Practice is looking for energetic Project Management personnel with a high level of initiative to market and manage projects for Burns & McDonnell’s federal clients. Types of projects and programs include studies, master planning, design-bid-build and design-build construction for NAVFAC and USACE District IDIQ contracts, administrative and operational facilities, infrastructure, POL/Fueling, waterfront facilities, airfield facilities and aircraft beddowns, laboratories, engine test facilities, industrial facilities, central utility plants, combined heat and power plants, renewable energy, energy reliability and security, and other projects requiring specialized design skills. The A&F Global Practice serves federal, private and public markets sectors and other assistance may be required for developing these regional clients. Our Project Managers are Seller-Doers with a keen focus on business development and act as the primary interface with our clients and technical teams to market, plan, coordinate, communicate and manage projects, contracts, and project activities across multiple disciplines.
Directs and coordinates activities of several disciplines on a project of moderate scope or a combination of smaller projects. Communicates and coordinates with team all deliverables as well as scope, schedule and budget with overall responsibility for quality assurance. Direct coordination with internal clients and other external clients. Other duties as assigned.
- Works with the Regional Office and Global Practice Manager to develop both the short and long-term strategic plan for the business. Assists in implementing business sales strategy for the business unit, including marketing strategy and pricing strategy, sales and customer retention strategy.
- Assists with profitable and sound growth through sales within regional office and cross selling company portfolio of services.
- Assists the effort in identifying and marketing clients that are key to profitable growth through sales of all potential Burns & McDonnell Global Practices within a given potential/existing client.
- Assists with recruitment, selection, and development of key team members.
- Leads sales and marketing activities for assigned clients and assigned target clients. Identifies opportunities and manages team efforts for submittals, proposals, presentations, contract negotiation, marketing communications, trade shows and related activities. Participates in go/no-go evaluations, establishes project work plans and develops fee estimates for review by Global Practice Manager.
- Learns, adheres, and makes decisions in step with the Burns & McDonnell Risk Management program when pursuing applicable opportunities.
- Develops outstanding client relationships. Responsible for client satisfaction, representing Burns & McDonnell, while developing an outstanding reputation in the federal market.
- Create and cultivate key relationships within target client organizations.
- Facilitate strategy development to pre-sell projects before RFP release.
- Lead or facilitate proposal development for project pursuits.
- Makes cold calls when necessary.
- Possesses a competitive but positive attitude, a passion for winning, and is never completely satisfied with the attainment of set goals.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in architecture and/or engineering from an accredited program. Minimum 7 years related experience. Must have ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government and public contracts on project-related matters. Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Strong leadership, problem solving and project finance skills. Prior Federal experience a plus. Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change. Candidates must possess strong sales management skills and a strategic perspective. Must be proficient in the use of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint. Professional Registration preferred. LEED AP Preferred. Position requires 20% to 30% travel.
Compensation
$150,000.00-395,000.00 Annually
The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
