EIG Electrical Systems is seeking a Chief Electrical Estimator to lead our electrical preconstruction effort. The ideal candidate will possess at least 10 years estimating experience in commercial construction, specifically specializing in electrical and electrical systems. Experience with projects in our core markets of healthcare, advanced technology, biopharmaceutical, corporate office and higher education is a plus. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Leading our regional electrical preconstruction efforts across multiple geographical business units.
- Work with our Estimators and Project Executives to secure electrical trades on our projects.
- Provide conceptual estimates based on various scenarios to help secure work.
- Lead, mentor, train and advocate for our existing team of estimators.
- Create and implement current best practices for our preconstruction efforts.
- Review and endorse all large project estimates prior to submission.
- Track and support opportunities, as well as, maintain forecasts for upcoming work.
- Review project data for historical productions and costs.
- Maintain a consistent electrical estimating database through the assigned region.
- Consistent with our “Leader – Doer” leadership model, successful candidate will also be expected to be the hands-on electrical estimator for some projects.
Qualifications
We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess:
- Minimum 10 years of commercial electrical estimating experience and three years of Chief Estimating experience.
- Solid understanding of commercial electrical construction, processes, systems and codes.
- Experienced in estimating labor, materials, equipment, general conditions, and risk.
- Proficient in Accubid estimating software and Live Count for take-offs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient in Bluebeam.
- Prior experience leading other estimators.
