Job Summary
The Materials Coordinator is responsible for identifying and procuring the goods and services needed to complete projects. This position supports project management and field operations and while working with vendors, senior management, and personnel from all departments.
Responsibilities
- Identify and determine the purchasing needs of the organization.
- Work with Scoping and Production to forecast demand, evaluate inventory levels, and take orders.
- Perform cost management to identify areas of potential cost reduction and analyze the impact of pricing changes for goods and services.
- Source materials using knowledge of current inventory levels for needed materials.
- Create purchase orders using defined purchasing protocols.
- Assist in the receipt of purchased materials and services and keep detailed records of purchases and stocks.
- Monitor deliveries and any past due shipments.
- Build relationships with suppliers and manage their performance.
- Conduct routine supplier business reviews to evaluate supplier performance and compliance.
Qualifications
Minimum
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience.
- Strong computer and data entry skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Ability to analyze and prepare detailed reporting.
- Must have a deep understanding and experience with Purchasing Contracts.
Preferred
- 3 or more years procurement experience.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle r12 EBS platform and services.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners.
