Northstar Fire Protection of Texas is a Texas based company. Northstar has been on the forefront of the fire protection industry since 1980. With offices in Austin, Lewisville, Houston, San Antonio, and Atlanta, GA we have grown to be a nationally recognized company. Northstar engineers, fabricates, and installs fire sprinkler systems for structures including commercial, government, healthcare, high-rise condominiums and mixed-use projects.

Job Summary
Electrical design responsibilities for our Design/Build construction projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Designs electrical systems using Revit, based on established standards for products, components, and applications.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Assists Electrical Engineers with electrical design.
- Assist with department representatives, architects, engineers, and consultants to establish project requirements, and specifications. Assist with the development and approval of architectural and engineering construction drawings
- Assist with preparation of project documentation
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Design, Engineering or equivalent education and experience
- Experience working for a contractor on electrical systems design or in the field is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently or in a team environment
- Small amount of travel is expected with this position, short duration determined as required for project design and execution
- Computer literate with MS Office product offerings including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc
- Proficiency in Revit.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, in both written and oral work
