Job Title: Automation Technician II (DDC)
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Tests, inspects, adjusts, troubleshoots, and diagnoses issues with dampers, actuators, sensors, valves, and other automation components effectively.
- Ability to identify mechanical equipment and related automation components on drawings for chillers, boilers, pumps, AHU’s, FCU’s, VAV’s, etc.
- Understands basic electrical control circuits including 24VAC/DC power and controller input/outputs.
- Able to collaborate with the service department for ordering replacement materials and ensure their prompt delivery and installation.
- Prepares schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, circuits, and systems for service reports.
- Monitor, identify, and diagnose potential problems using computer workstations and on-site observations.
- Stay updated with industry advancements, incorporating new technologies and best practices into your work to enhance the efficiency of building automation systems.
- Must be able-bodied and willing to work rotating weekends and be on call to address emergency service requests promptly.
Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of relevant experience, with at least two years as an automation technician.
- Strong understanding of building automation system networks and protocols, enabling effective problem diagnosis and resolution.
- Relevant certifications in Niagara and Distech Controls is a must
- Technical skills required include knowledge of electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and programming.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, ensuring clear and professional interactions with clients and team members.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, allowing you to identify issues, propose viable solutions, and implement necessary changes.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, offering technical support to colleagues as needed.
- Willingness to adapt to evolving technologies and methodologies within the dynamic field of building automation systems.
- A valid driver’s license.

Compensation Range: $40.00 – $50.00 per hour
