Southern Industrial is looking for a Workforce Development Craft Trainer to work out of our corporate office in Raleigh, NC. This position will require frequent travel.
Provide NCCER Craft training, Company developmental training and champion Workforce Development initiatives. Display mastery of their craft. Coach, mentor and assign training adequate for craft developmental growth. Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge in training methods and deliverable techniques.
- Deliver new hire Craft Assessments.
- Set up classes and assist at several locations with inventory, equipment and NCCER paperwork.
- Fieldwork and site visits to assist with assessments, surveys, Journeyman evaluations.
- NCCER multiple responsibilities as Craft Instructor, Coordinator, Second Administrator, Master Trainer.
- Skills gap analysis assist and system entry.
- Familiarity with E-learning, LMS-Learning Management Systems training, CBTs’-Computer based classes, and other training platforms.
- NCCER audit assist.
- NCCER Master list update.
- NCCER Proctor computer and tests.
- Understand levels of Craft Job Descriptions and developmental progression.
- Flexible weekend, evening hours.
- Teach NCCER modules, Trade, Company.
- Assist with Title assignments of Craft and submit PAN (payroll action notices).
- Build and assist with Lunch & Learns.
- Teach and prepare “Rainy Day” courses and deliver training.
- Enter Training data as acquired and maintain appropriate reports.
- Computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, Outlook, database management.
- Basic clerical skills to include data entry, report preparation, file maintenance, scheduling appointments, and preparing invoices/bills for payment.
- Strong interpersonal communication, attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills.
- Minimal overnight travel.
- Perform additional duties as directed.
