The Position: Wasatch Electric is accepting applications for a Training Manager.
Role Specifics:
The Training Manager will report directly to the Safety, Quality, and Productivity (SQP) Director. The primary responsibility will be to ensure that all employees are up-to-date and compliant with safety training and electrical industry best practices, including but not limited to OSHA, MSHA, and other safety standards.
The Training Manager will use a hybrid approach of classroom and virtual methods to provide engaging and impactful training to all company employees (field and office).
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Deliver effective and efficient training with energy and enthusiasm
- Maintain and continuously improve existing courses, with an emphasis on using hands-on training when possible
- Help develop instructor led, virtual, and eLearning training courses as needed
- Coordinate training efforts across Wasatch Electric departments
- Identify training gaps, then create and implement training programs to fill these gaps
- Manage electronic records to track employees training needs and progress
- Become knowledgeable or a subject matter expert as needed to support and direct compliance training efforts
- Work closely and communicate effectively with subject matter experts and decision makers to plan, develop, and deliver required training
- Audit and assess the changing training needs in various departments of the company, then design plans to deliver that training
- Work as a dynamic team player within the SQP team
Qualifications:
- Field experience and knowledge of both inside and outside electrical installation
- Training experience in the construction, energy, transportation, or manufacturing industries is preferred
- Certifications (current or pending) in safety or quality including OSHA and MSHA
Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Enthusiastic attitude and ability to work well as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize and stay organized while managing multiple demands
- Ability to plan and manage time effectively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- “Continuous Improvement” attitude and the capacity and desire to improve your work and teach others to improve their work
- A safety mindset with the ability to see potential problems and then respond appropriately
- Photo and video editing experience is a plus
Requirements:
- Speak and interact with large and small groups of all classifications of field personnel, field management, office staff, and executive management
- Use a variety of computer programs, mobile electronic devices, and software tools proficiently
- Possess the mental acuity to focus, engage, and solve technical and organizational problems
- Stand for several hours at a time
- Sit at a desk for long periods
- Travel to local jobsites throughout the day as needed
- Travel out of area as required (10%)
