STV continues to grow in the Western Region creating some exciting new opportunities to join our team. We currently have an opening for a Vice President – Rail and Transit Leader in our Transportation division. The position can be based in one of our West Coast offices. The Transit Leader will be responsible for the continued growth of the practice through prioritizing client experience and positioning to win new projects. Additionally, the successful candidate with lead and mentor the Rail/Transit team that is located throughout the West Coast with a focus on growing exceptional talent for our future and continued growth. You will also be accountable for allocating staff resources, budget preparation, fiscal reporting, planning, scope development, and project oversight for all assigned capital projects. This individual will work independently with multi-discipline A&E teams managing a variety of projects from smaller on-call task orders to large transit programs.
Key leadership responsibilities will include:
- Leading positioning efforts for a variety of mid- to long-term opportunities
- Leading proposal preparation and/or review. Coordinate teaming arrangements for project proposals as necessary. Support larger pursuits and pursuit teams
- Performing client management, coordination and communication with agencies such as LA Metro, Metrolink, MTS, NCTD, BART, Sound Transit, OCTA and RCTC
- Mentoring staff in consulting skills and BD/marketing as well as design and project management
Key operations responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring oversight of work, budgets, project management plans and workload forecasting are executed
- Assisting with the development, implementation, and oversight of the strategic and annual business plan development
- Ensuring applicable quality processes are being followed for all deliverables
- Developing, implementing, and managing annual labor budget (goals)
- Working with leadership to prepare workload projections, monthly Revenue Recognition Report, monthly Exceptions Report and assist with collections as necessary
- Providing input with respect to hiring, advancement, promotion, and other personnel matters
Preferred Experience:
- Strong Communication Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- PE license with ability to get reciprocity as needed
- PMP Certificate
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in Civil/Transportation Industry. Experience with design, construction and/or operation of rail and transit lines preferred
- Key Client Relationships
- History of developing and maintaining effective business relationships with clients and peers
- Experience with operating transit agencies and railroads
- Experience with federal, state and local funding
- Experience with FTA and/or FRA
- Demonstrated success in growing a group, division or company
Compensation Range: $184,122.00 – $245,496.00
