Position Summary
Aetna is seeking an experienced consultant with a wellness background to work directly with one of our important customers and their employee population to develop and deliver holistic wellness programming to reduce health risk and medical costs and encourage healthy lifestyles. This is a collaborative, customer-facing position working directly with the customer’s benefits and HR team with visibility to senior leadership across their organization. Leveraging industry and wellness knowledge and experience, the consultant will be able to utilize resources and turn data into actionable opportunities to impact overall population health. This role is an extension of the Aetna account team with an opportunity to work internally with key Aetna enterprise partners and with local and community resources to meet the needs of the customer’s population. The ideal candidate for the Wellness Consultant will leverage knowledge of the customer’s benefit program, their wellness strategy, Aetna/CVS Health programs and industry knowledge to engage directly with the customer and their employee population. Key components of the role include:
- Be knowledgeable on the customer’s benefits program and how it is intended to support the customer’s broader approach to wellness with a focus on emotional, social, physical and financial wellness.
- Use data to inform the wellness strategy. Identify local and community wellness resources to incorporate into the customer’s wellness strategy.
- Recommend wellness solutions and services that align with the customer’s needs – including mental health initiatives – and collaborate to drive the desired results addressing virtual, onsite and hybrid requirements.
- Develop, coordinate, and manage condition management programs interacting directly with employees to reduce health risk, medical costs, influence behavior change and encourage healthy lifestyles within the customer’s population. This includes member education and advocacy.
- Proactively assist in the implementation of internal and vendor-provided programs, including identifying and executing tactics (including incentive strategies) to increase awareness and participation/utilization.
- Promote and facilitate onsite/virtual/hybrid wellness events at various locations, coordinating with benefits vendors, while answering questions about various programs and encouraging participation in available programs, coordinate referrals to appropriate customer programs as appropriate.
- Develop communication(s) in support of the wellness strategy and benefit offering to drive engagement, promote program awareness, and influence behavior change leveraging the customer’s multi-channel assets. This includes developing and delivering newsletters, email campaigns and health advocacy webinars in conjunction with local wellness resources to drive engagement. An example is member-level meditation sessions to promote mental health breaks.
- Assess wellness program results to promote improved engagement. Perform analysis to develop a deeper understanding of member behavior and wellness opportunities.
- Perform analysis of and provide data-driven insights.
- Conduct research for best practices, and leading and emerging trends; proactively share information about current national wellness initiatives.
- Coordinate and facilitate a wellness ambassador network to promote wellness across multiple customer locations.
- Partner with Aetna’s clinical and analytical resources on Aetna program data analysis and identify key drivers of impactable health risks.
- Participate in the preparation and delivery of client plan performance reviews and insights at regularly scheduled client meetings.
- Deliver Meditation Sessions and Weekly Tea-Time Talk programming (10-15 min).
- Provide wellbeing moments – guided mindfulness meditation sessions, overview or demo of wellbeing programming available through Aetna.
- Create materials to align wellbeing resources to promote alignment with ERGs, front-line wellbeing challenges, woman’s health, men’s health, etc.
- Align content to support frontline materials and intranet site aligned with key themes (nat’l health observances, etc).
- Provide coaching, direction, feedback, and support of other matrixed team members (e.g. external vendors) to drive integrated value for the plan sponsor.
This is a customer-facing role with potential travel throughout the year estimated at :25%. This position is a remote, WAH position with the exception of customer onsite requirements as noted. Preferred geographies include: NJ, NYC or CT. Travel focus is on engagement in support of wellness programming, employee health education, onsite wellness events, support for open enrollment, key meetings with stakeholders, etc.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience working in employer health and wellness promotion fostering a culture of wellness in a corporate environment
- 3+ years of experience with wellness programs and services
- 2+ years demonstrated project management experience
- 1+ years of experience with corporate employee benefit programs
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to establish highly collaborative relationships within and outside the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience collaborating with senior leadership and developing content and presenting to executive stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving and analytic skills turning data into information; attention to detail
- Background and fundamental knowledge of the healthcare industry
- Experienced with MS Office tools
- Preferred geographies of East Coast (Eastern Time Zone)
- Health Promotion, Public Health, Exercise Science or related course of study. Masters preferred.
- WELCOA Certification
Education
- Bachelor’ Degree or equivalent work experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$60,300.00 – $139,200.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
