Job Summary:
The Coordinator, Publicity will support the Disney Branded Television publicity team and its publicity campaigns. Working hand in hand with a team of publicists and senior level executives, this role will be responsible for the full scope of day-to-day functions of the department including publicity strategy and administrative support.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting team in researching media outlets, reporters, UVMs, etc.
- Compiling weekly team communications reports & status updates.
- Pulling and compiling show assets – including images, clips, etc.
- Compiling and maintaining press lists and press coverage (including social media posts).
- Brainstorming story angles and pitch opportunities.
- Interacting with various internal departments and employees at all levels and externally (PR firms, talent, talent reps, production staff, journalists, etc.) as needed.
- Drafting press materials (bios, fact sheets, confirmation memos, social media copy, etc.).
- Creating and maintaining show contact sheets.
- Distribution of press screeners, mailers, premiums, etc.
- Support for industry and consumer publicity events (TCA, red-carpet premieres, press and influencer screenings, etc.).
- Creating PowerPoint & Keynote presentations.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years relevant PR support experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Docs).
- Must have excellent verbal communication, writing and organizational skills.
- Must be social media savvy and able to navigate X/Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
- Must be resourceful with a high level of detail.
- Must be self-motivated and be able to work within the fast-paced world of entertainment publicity.
- Must have the ability to prioritize as well as multitask.
- Desire and commitment to take on increasingly greater levels of responsibility.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must have integrity to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $51,200 to $70,200 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
