What to Expect

The Maintenance Manager will lead and grow Tesla’s Press Model Y maintenance team at GFTX. The ideal candidate candidate will have a successful track record in automotive press/stamping manufacturing maintenance, ensuring sustainable production and facilitating the smooth introduction of new parts and equipment as needed. They demonstrate exceptional skills in cross-functional collaboration, partnering with department leaders to proactively resolve issues that impact part quality, production efficiency, work cell ergonomics, and equipment maintenance.

What You’ll Do

• Direct leadership and training of maintenance crews covering a 24/7 operation to drive OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) incl. Maintenance Supervisors and Equipment Engineers
• Responsible for day-to-day line support, in-house repair work, vacation, overtime scheduling, contractor management, and weekend work scheduling
• Define daily tasks and setting directions for the team
• Develop equipment standards, procedures, methods and maintain proper documentation of all necessary procedures, periodic maintenance tasks, and equipment changes (electrical, spare parts upgrades, mechanical)
• Project manage internal and minor contractor maintenance projects and equipment upgrades
• Assist with budget development and reporting
• Maintain spare parts inventory: identify/order needed parts and maintain tracking system

What You’ll Bring

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience
• 7+ years in maintenance and/or equipment management in an automotive manufacturing press / stamping environment
• 5+ years’ experience with troubleshooting and correcting industrial equipment maintenance in a high-volume manufacturing environment on a journeyman level
• Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing methodologies and system development
• Capable of leveraging prior experience to elevate our Maintenance Team’s performance to new heights
• Proven success in team building, coaching, and succession planning for technical and engineering personnel
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism
