Software Application Engineer (Unity & C# / Unreal & C++)

You will be part of a team producing solutions for customers based on or relevant to our products in Digital Twin and Metaverse segments, through applicable technologies and methods in 3D content creation, IoT device connectivity and immersive/interactive UI development. For some cases of emergent technical demands, there will be arranging of training in specific courses or collaborating with external expertise.

You will undertake development/integration as planned by the solution team lead, and report to the project manager for progress monitoring and risk management. The tasks will be primarily in software development tasks – with development environments of Visual Studio, Unreal Engine and/or Unity -and system configuration works, with hardware assembly and deployment as needed for the solution e.g. for embedded computing applications. You will support the solution team lead and project manager in ensuring functionality and performance, as well the quality of solutions.

Your specialisation(s) as a developer will depend on your individual skillset, as well as the profile of competencies in the solution team. Your ability to learn and advance your skills independently will be key to your performance and success of the team. This extends to awareness of related industry standards and trends, while contributing to technology innovation in our solutions to customers.

Note: the next advancement for this position will be Senior/Lead Application Engineer.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist the solution team lead in prototyping and trials to define solutions for customers
• Knowledge of in-house developed products, specifically as platforms or components of solutions
• Development/integration tasks contributing to solution delivery:
• Design and implementation of solution components
• Regular reporting to the project manager and cooperating with workplans
• Ensuring functionality and performance of components, including integratability
• Performing delivery verification procedures as part of the solution team

Job Requirements:

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Computing or related field
• Experience in software development, programming with C/C++ and C#
• Entry level candidates are welcome
• Familiar with development environments of Visual Studio, Unreal Engine and/or Unity
• Knowledge in one or more areas of: 3D content creation, IoT device connectivity and immersive/interactive UI development
• Understanding of technical writing and demonstrable proficiency in English
• Aptitude for problem-solving and able to learn quickly to accomplish tasks

Plus Point:

• Demonstrable expertise in one or more development tools as listed above
• Experience in scripting with Powershell and Python
• Familiar with relational database management systems and SQL
• Understanding of A.I. Machine Learning and inference runtimes
• Experience in usage of Cloud platforms e.g. AWS and Azure
• Prior position as a significant individual contributor of solution team(s)
