We are looking for a sharp Sr. Project Manager to join our team in Southern CA with the growing demand for Fleet Modernization projects for a wide array of industries/clientele. This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week from one of our Southern CA offices (San Juan Capistrano, Diamond Bar, or Long Beach offices) during our normal business hours. Position Summary:
The demand for mobile source compliance and long-term planning is growing exponentially. We are looking for a senior level project manager to help lead our team in assisting clients with developing strategies for handling the shifting regulatory requirements. The Sr. Project Manager will work closely with clients to assess inventories, evaluate fleet compliance statuses, analyze technical and regulatory issues, and communicate the findings with various entities within each client’s organization and to government agencies. This position requires effective communication, decision-making, and time management skills. Other duties may be assigned as required.
This person will be responsible for performing complex and time-sensitive duties within the occupational field. They will train other employees and monitor work produced by them.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in CARB Fleet Compliance related project management
- Experience in environmental services, particularly mobile source reporting, compliance, planning, and/or fleet management of on-road and/or off-road vehicle fleets
- Ability to manage and lead active team members on project teams towards project completion within project scope, budget, and schedule, and ensure quality work product and deliverables
- Ability to manage successful relationships with clients, staff, and regulators through effective communication and expertise by fostering a collaborative environment without losing focus on quality
- Proven track record of successful regulatory work in dealing with the CARB, AQMD, and/or similar regulatory agencies
- Ensure reports and submissions are submitted in a timely manner
- Experience with handling highly technical data and interpreting technical data
- Highly motivated to continue working in the fleet modernization compliance and expand their knowledge and experience
- CA Regulatory/Compliance experience is required
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Urban Planning, Project Management, Public Policy/Administration, or other relevant technical degrees from an accredited college (minimum GPA of 3.0)
- Rule expertise related to mobile source compliance and reporting
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team, handle several projects at once, prioritize work, and work efficiently
- Desire to share technical expertise and subject matter expertise with clients and team members
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience in conflict resolution and crisis management
- Track record of successful analysis, interpretation, and application of rules and regulations towards practical solutions
Optional Qualifications:
- Ideal candidate will be familiar with an array of CARB fleet regulations (T&B, ACF, PSIP, Clean Truck Check (HDIM) Program, ORD, LSI, PERP, etc) and know how to effectively navigate between applicability and exemptions for multiple regulations to correctly identify the appropriate requirements that apply
- Desire to train team members and clients on regulatory compliance requirements and strategies
- Experience with funding/incentive programs such as Carl Moyer, VW Mitigation Funds, HVIP, CORE, Prop 1B Goods Movement, Federal Programs, etc
- Experience with Port-specific regulations and requirements (CHE, CHC, Drayage, etc)
