We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Construction Superintendent to join our dynamic team. This is an incredible opportunity to work with a leading construction company, renowned for its high-quality commercial projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all phases of our construction projects, ensuring that all aspects are carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner. This position requires a strong understanding of construction management, commercial construction, and scheduling. With a minimum of 5+ years of experience, the ideal candidate will be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct construction projects from conception to completion.
- Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
- Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors.
- Meet contractual conditions of performance.
- Review the work progress on a daily basis.
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
- Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
- Analyze, manage, and mitigate risks.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
Qualifications:
- Proven working experience in construction management, with a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficient experience with tilt-wall projects
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods.
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
- Understanding of all facets of the construction process.
- Familiarity with construction management software packages.
- Ability to plan and see the “big picture”.
- Competent in conflict and crisis management.
- Excellent time and project management skills.
- BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or related field is preferred.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, listening).
- Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings, and plan sets.
- Advanced understanding of risk management policies and procedures.
- Extensive experience managing budgets for large construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
